Faculty & Staff

Arla Markael purchased North Idaho Massage Academy because she fell in love with the students and staff. Arla, who is heart centric, gets excited at how this education helps heal people physically and emotionally.  An educator herself, with her Bachelors in Secondary Education from University of Idaho, Arla deeply appreciates the educational process that students go through as massage therapists, and seeks to make it as beneficial as possible.  Arla loves that students can graduate from NIMA debt free, and with a skill that changes lives, while providing great income for the therapists.  She also came into this school having owned several businesses in the past, so is a well rounded part of the team.

Christopher started massage at age 14  when his dad purchased a massage table for him to practice on family and friends.  His dad loved Christophers natural abilities and encouraged him to pursue Massage Therapy.  Christopher graduated from Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2008 and was already so great at massage that his professors went to him for massage for themselves after Graduation!  Christopher did an additional internship in the medical field, working with doctors, osteopaths, surgeons, and chiropractors, learning and growing in his craft.  He became certified to help people with TMJ Dysfunction, Sports Massage, and many other modalities.  He truly has a healing touch and currently serves as the Massage Basics and Path 102 instructor.
